ROCKET RACE TYRES
Welcome to Rocket Race Tyres! I have tested many different
compounds and have found these to be the best. I will describe
each one and how testing has gone, and where we have had
success. Hopefully you will have similar results. Again that is why I
have a team of drivers testing these, so you will know what works.
MAGENTA:
These are a rear tyre that works just about everywhere and
wears very well. They compare to a Precision Gold, yet have
much better wear characteristics.
PEARL:
These are also a good rear tyre, but I am sure they will find
there way onto the inside front, or even outside front under
certain conditions. They wear like iron, and will loosen the
car up at certain tracks if used on the right rear. Same
rubber as the Magenta but a little firmer.
BLACK:
These work well on the right front under most conditions, and
are very predictable. It has a little more bite than a Jap 40,
so if you need a tick more steering, these will work for you.
PLATINUM:
Well testing proved these to be a great tyre. They were great
at the Worlds this year for all the drivers. They do bite like an
SE Medium, which are becoming harder and harder to get,
and they wear a little better. Definitely the tire for the inside
on a greasy track that has had alot of running on it. I think 3
of us ran them on the outside rear as well.

DIAMOND:
Another tyre to add to the stable. These are an equivalent to
a Jap 40 type rubber compound, but have worn better in
testing.
RUBY:
These have been proven to be what they call an "old gold".
They are firmer than the currant gold, but have equal bite.
They also have much better wear characteristics, so they
should last quite a bit longer also.
Available April '08
Later in the season...
JADE:
Same rubber compound as the Ruby, but a little softer.
During testing, drivers were using this tyre on the LR and
Ruby on the RR with great results.
TOPAZ:
This is a the same rubber as the Black, but harder for less
bite. Still in testing, but a proven rubber compound that
works well.
SAPPHIRE:
Same rubber as the DIAMOND, but just a tic softer for a little
more bite.
